Tutoring and Social Skills for Neurodiverse and Exceptional Children
Rome Exceptional Tutoring is a tutoring company for children who are performing academically between pre-k and fifth grade with specialization for students who are neurodiverse or have developmental or intellectual disabilities. We accept children through high school for our social skills program. At RET, we not only help students achieve their academic goals, but we take an individualized and holistic approach to teaching. We evaluate areas of development, including social skills, health and safety skills, and social-emotional development. Our expertise includes families with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental or intellectual disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and physical challenges or disabilities. We have programs for individual tutoring, group tutoring, social skill building, social-emotional development, and safety skill building. These programs include individualized programs, project-based learning that focuses on social skills, and community-based learning.
Family and IEP Services
As a parent of a child with different needs, I am acutely aware of the emotional toll and struggles that happen while parenting and loving a child with special needs. As someone with years of training and education in child development, applied behavioral analysis, and counseling, I have developed techniques and strategies to help teach these students and coach families through these challenges. At Rome Exceptional Tutoring, I offer coaching and mentoring and a support group for parents as they cope with the challenges of parenting an exceptional child..
Having a child in the public school system with an individualized education plan (IEP), I am privy to the struggles special needs parent face when trying to get services for their child. This first hand knowledge and experience as both a parent and an educator provides me with a unique and specialized skill set to help families through the IEP process and advocacy. At RET, we also offer IEP consultation and advocacy services.
Family Empowerment Scholarship For Unique Learners Tutoring Program, FES-UA (Formerly the Gardiner Scholarship) for children three years old and above
The FES-UA program allows parents to personalize the education of their children with unique abilities by choosing how to use the scholarship money. At RET, we are FES-UA tutoring providers, which allows us to create an individualized program that specifically addresses the social-emotional and academic needs of your child. We evaluate areas of development, including social skills, health and safety skills, and social-emotional development. As a FES-UA provider, our academic tutoring program DOES NOT cost families anything, but you must be a Family Empowerment For Unique Learners scholarship recipient.
